Copperesque ~ Frontenac Island Tile

We are now pairing mouldings with our new tile for an outstanding showing of historical images.

The Frontenac Island image (circa 1910) has been very popular in our Pendant form. Now in a wall hanging tile, we expect it to be a source of pride when displayed on the wall of anyone who calls the Finger Lakes Region… Home.

Measures 9.5" overall with moulding, glass tile alone measures 5 1/2"

Tile are formed from 6 individual pieces of glass, transparent and ivory opal, fused together for 20 hours in our kiln. The image is transferred on special film with a high iron content ink, then applied to the cooled surface of the glass shape. It goes back in the kiln for another 20 hours, where the carrier film burns away and the iron fuses with the glass surface. This process forms a permanent image with a sepia-toned photograph feel.
