Copperesque ~ Blanchard Library pendant

The Dean-Hobbs-Blanchard Memorial Library had an aroma of old books, wood work, eucalyptus, and card catalogs. The walls were neutral in color with old paintings formally placed. Sounds were muffled; and in those day we really did whisper in the library.
Once you pushed your way through the heavy, tinted glass door, it was total immersion into a world that seemed to exist untouched by time. The world of Mrs. Spencer.

Pendants are 1.25" squares with Sterling Silver plated bail and 18" black cord necklace.

Includes pillow style gift box.

Pendants are formed from 2 pieces of glass, one transparent and the other opaque, tack fused together for 12 hours in our kiln. The image is printed on special paper with a high iron content ink, then applied to the cooled surface of the glass shape. It goes back in the kiln for another 12 hours, where the carrier paper burns away and the iron fuses with the glass surface. This process forms a permanent image with a sepia-toned photograph feel.
